Privacy for Community Readers

Who is responsible

Polartallyrockt Community Media Ltd, company number 16027438, is responsible for personal information handled for this publication. Our registered office is 41 Thomas Street, Manchester, M4 1NA, UK. Contact [email protected] about privacy.

Reading the website

The site does not require an account and its code does not include advertising trackers, analytics services, third-party embeds or remotely hosted fonts. A hosting service may process technical request information, such as an IP address, requested page, browser information and access time, to deliver and protect the website. Such processing is limited to operational and security purposes, not behavioural advertising.

The reader-question tool

The tool processes the name or handle, subject and question you enter within your browser. It does not submit these fields to us or persist them in local storage. Copying uses your browser’s Clipboard API only after you select the copy action. Downloading creates a text file on your device. Other software with access to your clipboard or downloaded files may process that information independently.

The tool does not intentionally save drafts between visits. Your browser may retain form values through its own history or autofill features. Clear those using your browser controls, especially on a shared device.

If you email us

We receive your address, message and any information or attachments you choose to send. We use these to respond, investigate corrections and maintain relevant correspondence. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating an editorial publication and answering reader enquiries. Where processing is necessary to meet a legal obligation, that obligation is the relevant basis.

Do not send unnecessary sensitive information or personal data about other people. We do not sell reader correspondence. Access is limited to those who need it for the enquiry and service providers supporting communications, subject to applicable confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

Retention and transfers

We keep correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the enquiry, maintain a relevant correction record or meet legal requirements. Retention depends on the nature of the issue; you may ask us to review whether continued retention is necessary. Where a service provider processes information outside the UK, applicable legal safeguards are required.

Browser preferences

The cookies page can save a preference in local storage on your device. It is not sent by our scripts to a server. See the cookies notice for the key and deletion controls.

Your rights

Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us with enough information to identify the relevant correspondence; we may need proportionate identity checks. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or another competent supervisory authority.

External sites and changes

Source links take you to independent websites with their own privacy practices. We do not control their processing. Material changes to this notice will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
