About this publication

Our View from the Community

Polartallyrockt is an independent field guide to the people, procedures and shared spaces behind competitive fighting games.

The bracket belongs to more than its winner

We explain tournament structures, but we also look at the work that lets a bracket happen: welcoming people, communicating rules, maintaining equipment, handling concerns and making a room worth returning to.

Our readers include first-time visitors, returning players, volunteers and experienced competitors who want clearer explanations to share. We avoid assuming that everyone wants to become a professional player or that one scene’s customs apply everywhere.

How we use sources

Official game, event and circuit websites are linked where they support a named example. Community reference projects are identified as learning resources rather than formal authorities. We distinguish a general description of a format from the rules of a particular event.

This is not a live event directory. We do not publish invented schedules, guarantee entry availability or promise that an older rule remains current. Check the organiser’s latest documents before booking travel, buying entry or choosing equipment.

Independence and boundaries

We are not affiliated with the publishers, event brands, venues or platforms discussed. Mentioning an organisation is not an endorsement, certification or claim of partnership. Game names and other trademarks belong to their respective owners.

The question tool prepares text on your own device. It does not send messages, enter competitions or resolve event disputes. For an urgent issue at a venue, contact its staff directly.

Help us make a clearer guide

If a definition is unclear, a source has moved or an example needs correction, tell us which page and passage you mean. Include a current primary source where possible. Please avoid sending private information about other people.
